AMA Runner-up at Insider SME300 Most Focused Company Award

We are delighted to announce that AMA was runner-up in the Insider SME300 Most Focused Company award, at the awards dinner last night in Glasgow.

AMA were finalists in the Most Focused category alongside Petroleum Experts Ltd, an Edinburgh based engineering company, who eventually went on to win SME 300 Company of the Year. After the ceremony Mike Afshar joint managing director of AMA said “It was a major achievement for AMA to make it this far, given the strength of competition and the number of companies involved, we are delighted to be recognised by such a prestigious organisation as SME300”

The “Most Focused SME award” is for the organisation that demonstrates that planning strategically has resulted in the achievement of its mission. During the assessment process AMA were visited by representatives from Scott Moncrieff and Glasgow Caledonian University, who met with staff and directors at their head office in Edinburgh.

The judges’ criteria included investigating the company’s relationships with both staff and external agents, seeking evidence of a shared company-wide vision between employees and the business’ entrepreneurial, enthusiastic leaders.

The Awards are presented each year at a high quality dinner attended by the key players in the Scottish SME marketplace.  The evening was hosted by Louise Minchin and speeches were heard from Lord Charlie Falconer, and  Scott-Moncrieff Business Advisory Partner Donald Forsyth.

The SME300  Awards recognises the  exceptional achievements  of Scottish companies in a number of areas including leadership, innovation and focus. They also acknowledge the people who continue to drive Scotland’s SME sector forward.
